Our Story
The Lead Floral Designer
Jay is the founder and lead floral designer of By Yours Truly. He was first drawn to floristry through his family, and he has been refining his craft ever since through formal training, certification courses, and workshops, always looking for new techniques and ideas to bring into the studio.
His work comes from a genuine love for everything beautiful. He designs our collections and leads our weddings, events, and corporate work, and each piece is his way of expressing that creativity through colour, texture, and form.
Outside the studio, Jay is a professional photographer and a keen baker, and he spends as much time outdoors as he can, especially in summer. When he has a free day, you’ll likely find him hiking Grouse Mountain, camping at Alouette Lake, or paddleboarding in Deep Cove.
The Studio Manager
Paul manages the day-to-day running of the studio, from fulfilling orders and keeping inventory in check to looking after our website. He works closely with Jay to keep everything organized behind the scenes, so each order is prepared with care and arrives as it should.
Paul is the creative director behind our event setups and the bespoke designs you’ll see in our proposal and select arrangements. A fine arts graduate with over 15 years of creative and brand experience, he brings a strong visual eye to the studio and helps shape how By Yours Truly looks and feels.
Away from the studio, Paul can usually be found by the beach, trying a new restaurant, or settled in with a good book. He’s also a proud co-parent to Bristol, our senior cat.
